Planning Seminar

Historic Environment Scotland arranged for a half day seminar with Planning Officials from the City of Edinburgh Council to discuss thermal improvements to traditional windows in the City and the rest of Scotland, and how improved glazing technologies can be incorporated into historic and traditional windows. This session was also to confirm the approach to be taken in the writing of the new HES Short Guide on sash and case windows. A specific example of an upgraded timber window was shown by a local contractor working on a former school. Their planning policies with listed buildings, including windows can be viewed at:
