The kick-off meeting of Task 56 took place at the European Academy of Bozen/Bolzano (EURAC). EURAC is a private research center located in Bolzano city center. 28 experts from 16 research institutions and 7 commercial companies joined the meeting. A general introduction of Task 56 was given by the Operating Agent Roberto Fedrizzi. The Subtask leaders presented the workplan and the contributions of all experts were identified.

Following 12 countries (experts) were represented: Austria (3), Canada (1), Denmark (3), Germany (4), Italy (9), Norway (2), Slovakia (1), Spain (1), Sweden (1), Switzerland (1), The Netherlands (1) and as observer Ireland (1). Strong interest was confirmed by experts from Japan and UK, who could unfortunately not join this meeting.
